Trade Winds

Frequently asked questions

What is Trade Winds?

A free interactive 3D globe that visualizes capital flowing between the world's financial centers as animated wind-like streams, with live stock and crypto prices.

Is the data real-time?

Prices for US-listed stocks and major crypto assets are live from Finnhub, refreshed every 2 minutes. Non-US listings, index levels and the dollar size of each flow are simulated for illustration. Nothing on the site is investment advice.

Where is money flowing today?

Open the globe and look at Rankings. Flows lists the biggest corridors by dollars per day; Inflow lists which cities are attracting capital and which are losing it.

Which markets are covered?

New York, London, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, Frankfurt, Paris, Toronto, Sydney, Mumbai, Shanghai, Dubai, São Paulo, Zurich, Seoul, Taipei, Amsterdam and Riyadh, plus 300 stocks and the largest crypto assets. Full list.

Is SpaceX on it?

Yes. SpaceX (Nasdaq: SPCX) is tracked with a live quote, pinned to Starbase, Texas.

How do I read the streams?

Blue is equity, amber bonds, green FX and liquidity, violet crypto. Denser, wider, faster means more money. Particles move in the direction the money moves. Full guide.

Can I look at one stock or one sector?

Yes. Search a ticker, drag the market-cap slider, pick a sector from the dropdown, or click a sector in Rankings. Click any stock for its price, day range, market cap and the flows through its exchange.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes, in any modern browser with WebGL. The sidebar becomes a drawer and the details card becomes a bottom sheet.

Can I share a view?

The link button copies a URL that restores the camera, filters and selection. The camera button saves a snapshot image. Settings can be exported and imported as a small file.

How is it free?

A sponsor line in the top bar and referral links on the "Trade on" buttons. Referrals may earn Trade Winds a fee if you open an account; they never change what the globe shows.

Who makes it?

Box Of Otters, an independent studio in Redondo Beach, California. About Trade Winds.
